Share Some Sunshine While Staying Home
My husband and I both work from home and have a "routine" that works for us, alternating between one of us working while the other wrangles our toddler during the day, so this quarantine thing hasn't really made our daily lives look too different from normal. (Don't get me wrong, having everything closed has made us get more creative - and patient - with entertaining Oliver).
Lately he's really gotten into coloring (which I love, of course) so today I let him color up a storm and then I'll turn those tiny masterpieces into cards to send to his grandparents. We were planning to see some of them at Easter, but with all that's going on right now I don't know if that will happen.
(That picture is cute, right? This next one is a more accurate representation of how it usually goes down. I have since learned to only bring out like 5 crayons at a time...)
Sending and receiving just-for-fun snail mail has always been one of my favorite things. Who doesn't love getting something in the mail that's not a bill or junk mail?? Especially when it's for no specific reason, other than "I was thinking about you and wanted to brighten your day".
That's one of the things I want to focus on right now with everything being so crazy - just spreading joy and staying positive as much as possible (this is coming from someone who, if you had to pick a Winnie the Pooh character that personifies me, would be Eeyore...)
I urge you to find ways to brighten someone's day, especially now if they're experiencing some isolation or hard times as an effect of the virus. Write them a letter, give them a call, send them a care package. Just something to let you know you're thinking about them :)
If you'd like to send a card to someone but don't want to go out and buy one or just don't have the brain space to deal with that right now (which is beyond understandable), I'd love to help you out!
I have cards available with my artwork printed on them, and I'd be happy to mail one for you! Just send me an email (email@example.com) or instagram message with which card you want (see below for what I have available), the message, and the address!
I'll send you an invoice - $5 each, or buy 2 get 1 free.
That means for $5, you get:
- The card of your choice with your message handwritten by me
- I'll address the card for you and get it in the mail within 24 hours
- Your friend or family member receives a nice surprise in the mail and feels less isolated in this weird time
- You don't have to leave your house or add anything else to your to-do list.
- PS - I promise to use great handwriting, and I'll use pretty tape to seal it in case anyone's worried about me licking the envelope :)
And if you want to send something else as a gift to someone, I'm happy to include a handwritten note for free! Just include your info in the "special instructions" section on the shopping cart page, or send me an email and we'll get you taken care of.
Hang in there, y'all. We got this.
